Osun Begins Over Five Months Salary Payment

Osun state government has announced 50 per cent cut in salaries and allowances of all political office holders in the state, just as it commenced the process of paying salaries of civil servants in the state.
In a statement issued by the Governor’s Office, the government said it is paying the balance of November and full December salary arrears owed.

It assured that serious efforts are on to ensure the remaining months are also cleared.



After Moves to impeach him, Osun State Governor Rauf Aregbesola has finally began the part payment of salary arrears he owes his workers.

 Osun workers are being owed salaries since Febraury, and with the new developement the local government workers  have started to collect their March and April 2015 salaries.

Meanwhile, some categories of clans in Osun would start to get their salaries early next week beginning from Monday June 29, 2015 as promised by Governor Rauf Aregbesola.The Osun labour force had rejected Aregbesola’s offer to pay them two to three months and return to their duties posts.

The race to ensure development within the first term of Aregbesola was informed by the fear of what is happening now.

Governor Aregbesola wanted an Osun that is self-reliant. That Osun, almost for about two decades after its creation, could not boast of tax-paying companies speaks volume about the magnitude of the works that awaited the Aregbesola administration.

“But he did not shy away from this task of industrialisation and empowerment programmes. Within his first term, his government had caused investors to bring up companies such as the Omoluabi Garment Factory, Osogbo, Adulawo/RLG Technology company in Ilesa amongst many others.
